Part time opportunity working 28 hours per week from any one of our UK ULaw campuses.
Our Senior Assessment Officer roles are multifaceted, you will be responsible for ensuring the assessments process runs smoothly across all respective campuses. You will line manage a team of Assessment Officers in our Assessments Programme who will, in addition to supporting students, focus on the preparation for upcoming assessment periods and support campus teams with queries during and post the assessment period.
This role adopts a hybrid approach spending some time from home and the other from any of our UK ULaw campuses; Birmingham, Bristol, London Bloomsbury, London Moorgate, Manchester, Leeds, Nottingham.
The position is fixed term for up to 12 months covering maternity leave. Working 28 hours per week, we can be flexible on the days you work however Monday and Tuesday mornings would be an essential requirement for the position.
Due to the multitude of simultaneous deadlines and priorities, it is vital your team is clear on what takes priority and how they execute tasks efficiently and accurately. Therefore, the role of Senior Assessment Officer largely focuses on you understanding the bigger picture and relaying this to the team. As a leader you will have the skills to delegate effectively, set targets and identify training needs to ensure the team is fully supported.
As our Senior Assessment Officer, you will:
- Aside from being heavily involved in the assessment process and working collaboratively with your team, you will also attend regular senior team meetings
- Ensure your team maintains the student records system and assessment data to provide accurate and timely detail through reports and process implementation
- Lead the development of new or updated operational processes, training, and process reviews to ensure your team provide accurate and timely outputs in line with the assessment requirements of the University, including service level agreements, academic regulations and assessment policy
- Plan for the delivery of new programmes and subject areas. Engage with senior academic colleagues to understand the new programmes and their needs and offer advice and challenge to ensure that a standard, consistent student experience is delivered via standard, consistent processes.
The role of Senior Assessment Officer would be ideally suited to someone who is exceptionally organised and can oversee multiple tasks. Effective communication skills are key to ensuring clarity and consistency within the team. You will be a natural leader and collaborator ensuring everybody is on the same page working toward the same goal.
