An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Academic Manager to join the Department of Psychology at The University of Law, based at Leeds city centre campus.
This is a unique role, combining teaching with academic leadership and management. Alongside leading and developing a team of lecturers, you will also contribute directly to teaching on our psychology programmes at Leeds, bringing your expertise into the classroom and shaping the student experience first-hand.
The Role
As Academic Manager, you will play a key role in shaping both people and performance. You will lead, support and inspire a team of academic staff, ensuring the delivery of high-quality teaching and outstanding student outcomes.
Academic Manager - Psychology job description
As an Academic Manager at The University of Law, you will be:
Leading, managing and developing a team of lecturers, including performance management, PDRs and career development
Overseeing resource planning, timetabling and teaching allocation in collaboration with Faculty leadership
Driving quality and continuous improvement to achieve sector-leading academic outcomes
Motivating and developing colleagues, supporting their academic and professional growth
Ensuring an excellent student experience across both campus-based and online delivery
Collaborating with Programme and Student Leads to support course delivery and development
We are looking for individuals who are/have:
2:1 degree in psychology or equivalent
PhD or a postgraduate qualification in psychology
Be passionate about people management, including motivating, developing and leading through change with proven leadership skills
Be a proactive and enthusiastic self-starter who leads by example
Bring real-world legal or professional experience into your teaching
Be committed to delivering an outstanding and professionally relevant student experience
