English for Academic Purposes (EAP) Tutor - London Bloomsbury
Are you passionate about helping students develop the academic English and study skills they need to succeed in higher education?
We are looking for confident, approachable and supportive English for Academic Purposes (EAP) Tutors to join our Library & Learning Skills team on a fixed-term basis until August 2027.
We have two opportunities available:
1 full-time position (1.0 FTE – 35 hours per week)
1 part-time position (0.6 FTE – 21 hours per week), working evenings
This is a hybrid role based at our London Bloomsbury campus. Most of your working week will be spent on campus, providing face-to-face guidance and support to students in the classroom. For the part-time opportunity, the working pattern will focus on evening classes. When you are not required on campus, you'll have the flexibility to work remotely while preparing learning materials, developing online resources and carrying out other role-related activities.
In this rewarding role, you will provide guidance and practical support to students studying a range of subjects, including Law, Business and Management, Criminology, Psychology and Computer Science. You will help students develop their academic English, strengthen their assessment literacy and build the skills and confidence they need to succeed in their studies.
Support will primarily involve working alongside academic colleagues in the classroom, offering students guidance and assistance with their learning. There will also be opportunities to lead EAP and academic skills sessions, workshops and other learning activities, both in person and online.
The successful candidate will be approachable and proactive, with a genuine interest in supporting students with different learning needs. You will be confident providing individual and group guidance, facilitating learning activities and creating high-quality, self-directed resources that enhance the student experience.

Provide in-class guidance and practical support to students, working alongside academic colleagues to help them develop their academic English, assessment literacy and wider study skills.

Lead and facilitate timetabled EAP and academic skills sessions, workshops and webinars where required, supporting engaging and student-centred learning.
Develop and maintain high-quality, self-directed learning resources to support students in developing their academic skills independently.
Work collaboratively with colleagues across Faculty and Library & Learning Skills to develop, deliver and evaluate an impactful programme of student learning support.
