We are looking for high-calibre person to join our Student Records & Assessment (SR&A) team as Head of Assessment (Results, Progression and Awards). This is a permanent, full-time position.
Please note: this is a hybrid position, based remotely and from any of our UK Campuses.
As our Head of Assessment (Results, Progression and Awards), you will be leading one of our core assessment functions within the Student Records & Assessment (SR&A) team. The teams that make up this function manage the results, progression and award processes, making sure data is accurate, academic regulations are followed, as well as overseeing exam boards, publishing results and producing certificates. You will:
- Provide strategic and operational leadership for the Results, Progression and Awards function, ensuring services are delivered reliably, efficiently, and in line with regulatory standards
- Act as the functional service owner, accountable for all related processes, data integrity, systems readiness, risk management, and regulatory compliance.
- Anticipate and mitigate risks to assessment delivery, maintaining clear escalation routes and business continuity plans
- Develop operational strategies that align with University priorities and anticipate future sector requirements, ensuring services are sustainable and future-ready.
- Identify and deliver service improvements that enhance efficiency, reduce duplication, and improve the student and academic experience.
- Provide line management and matrix leadership, creating a high-performing culture of accountability, professional development, and continuous improvement.
We are looking for people who are/have:
- An up to date understanding of the sector standards in this area and experience of contributing to Higher Education academic regulations, ensuring compliance in operationalising internal and external regulatory requirements for progression and awards
- Experience working within a multifunctional/ multisite matrix environment
- Analytical problem solver, with excellent prioritisation skills
- Demonstrable high level collaboration skills with other key stakeholders in UK and Internationally
- Positive & proactive attitude
