vacancy Evaluation Manager
We are searching for an Evaluation Manager (Widening Participation and Student Success) to join our Equality, Diversity and Inclusion team, on a fixed term basis (maternity cover). You will be working either remotely in the UK or from one of our UK Campuses.
This is an exciting opportunity to manage the design and delivery of impact evaluation to support the University’s widening participation, student success and EDI work. This will include management of the team’s HEAT (Higher Education Access Tracker) database.
As our Evaluation Manager, you will work with others to develop the University’s evidence base to demonstrate progress and impact against WP and student success targets. You will undertake high level analysis of student and staff datasets and presenting the findings to a range of stakeholders, to inform strategic, operational planning and policy development.
The successful candidate must be a creative and pragmatic problem-solver, with the ability to think critically and identify patterns and insights from complex data
As our Evaluation Manager, you will be:
- Manage the development and implementation of evaluation strategies for the University’s APP, student success and student experience interventions, by leading, supporting and developing colleagues, including senior stakeholders
- Identify and overcome barriers to effective evaluation across the University and find innovative and creative solutions to problems and improve quality of evaluation
- Managing and maintaining the Higher Education Access Tracker (HEAT) Database for pre- and post-entry engagement as the institutional co-ordinator
- Undertake quantitative and qualitative data analysis to produce reports and present findings to relevant Working Groups and Committees (including external publication) in order to meet as regulatory requirements, and to contribute to the HE sector’s ‘what works’ evidence base.
Is this you?
- Experience of strategic oversight of and leading on the planning and implementation of impact evaluations in complex environments
- Experience of managing and maintaining the HEAT database or other monitoring and tracking services
- Stakeholder management skills across different levels of seniority and department
- Well-developed oral, numerical and written communication skills, particularly the ability to summarise concisely key trends or information into reports
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques, such as statistical analysis, data visualisation
- The ability to think critically and identify patterns and insights from complex data
